Saturn 8000 F Series is NMI’s new premium line of cassette-sized wireless DR detectors, built on the market-proven Saturn 8000 platform that has already earned a strong reputation in general radiology. With a 99 µm pixel pitch, glass-free flexible TFT, IP67 protection and up to 16 hours of battery life, it delivers superior diagnostic images while streamlining daily workflow. The series is available in three sizes – 25 × 30 cm, 36 × 43 cm and 43 × 43 cm – making it an ideal choice for upgrading film, CR or older DR systems.

FINEST Image Quality

High Resolution Images with 99 µm Pixel Pitch

Detect even the smallest bone structures. Saturn 8000 F Series features one of the smallest pixel pitches on the market at 99 µm, with spatial resolution of 5.0 lp/mm. The 3643FW model achieves DQE of 75% at 0 lp/mm for high-quality diagnostic images.

Semi-dynamic Feature (Multi-frame Mode)

Capture multiple images in quick succession for applications such as tomosynthesis, or combine several shots into one picture to create 3-D-like images. The 3643FW supports 6 fps for 10 seconds and the 4343FW supports 6 fps for 8 seconds at full image size.

Anatomy-based Image Enhancement with AI

NMI’s AI solution uses semantic segmentation to classify the photons on each pixel by anatomy. Knowing the body part of interest allows tone mapping to be optimised, improving the visibility of the X-ray image.

Non-Grid  |  SBSC

Advanced Image Processing Technology

Image processing specialised for Saturn 8000 detectors is applied in the DxWorks software, with preset parameters optimised for each examination. Optional SBSC (Software-Based Scatter Correction) removes X-ray scatter for clearer, high-contrast images – ideal where a hardware grid is difficult to use, and at low-dose conditions.

FINEST Durability

The elegant new design combines with exceptional robustness to create a practical detector for even the harshest hospital environment.

Unbreakable Glass-free TFT

Removing the most fragile glass layer gives the panel more flexibility and greatly reduces the risk of breakage from drops, heavy loads or pressure.

Enhanced Robustness

Passed a 150 cm drop test – the highest drop height among detectors on the market – and withstands up to 400 kg under uniform load.

IP67 Water & Dust Resistance

Operates stably in water for up to 30 minutes at depths of less than 1 metre, so water and dust are no longer a concern.

Wider Operating Temperature

Works reliably from 0 °C to 40 °C while maintaining the same image quality – suitable for outdoor and emergency use.

FINEST Usability

Lighter Weight for Greater Portability

The glass-free TFT significantly reduces weight, making the F Series the lightest of the Saturn 8000 detectors (from 1.7 kg). The ergonomic design improves grip, making it easier to pick up and preventing accidental drops.

Improved Battery Usage

Two batteries extend operation to 16 hours. Hot-swap mode lets you keep using the detector while exchanging batteries.

User-friendly Functions

OLED status screen – shows battery level, wired/wireless mode and image orientation at a glance.
AP button – switch AP on/off, change AP mode in the station and change the OLED display mode.
Detector sharing – share detectors between multiple imaging systems with a simple NFC card scan or the AP button.
